The road to scholarship
Carol Rimmer
This presentation will involve giving an overview of how to identify potential scholarship students and how to build on their strengths and interests.
The workshop will provide an overview of the scaffolding of programmes (including assessment tools), from junior to senior school, that we offer at Havelock North High School. These programme plans aim to prepare potential students for scholarship whist keeping a realistic expectation for achievement for the average student. This review of programmes will include some projections of the changes we may consider as a result of the implementation of the new technology curriculum.
Finally I will share some key ideas that I have found to be successful particularly in working with Years 12 and 13 students.
Intended Audience
Secondary school technology teachers.
