Sharing successful teaching strategies for Brief Development

Abstract

How do we get students to develop conceptual statements and attributes from a given context/issue?

What are the key ideas behind brief development and how do students show evidence that can be measured against the key competencies?

What does it mean to refine a brief?

Sharing some hands on strategies and resources to use immediately in the classroom.

Intended Audience

Teachers of Year 7 to Year 13.

Presenter Biography

Lesley joined Team Solutions as Technology and Graphics Facilitator in 2009. She has taught in England and for the last 15 years in New Zealand, including 12 years as a HoD at Diocesan School for Girls and most recently Takapuna Grammar School. She has worked in a variety of Ministry and NZQA initiatives and has convened and presented at conferences for both graphics and technology. Lesley is widely recognised for her passion and enthusiasm in engaging students in their own learning.
