Don't miss TENZ 2009
TENZ's seventh biennial conference will, like
its predecessors, offer a first-class professional
development opportunity to all those interested
in technology education.
The conference will be held in Napier on 6-8 October
2009. Napier's stunning War Memorial Conference
Centre (48 Marine Parade) is the venue for presentations, workshops and the
conference dinner. The programme will include a broad
range of activities for primary, secondary and tertiary
educators.

The conference is convened by Brian Allen, Team Leader,
Correspondence School, a position he has recently taken
up after working for Massey University as a Technology
Adviser. Brian's aim is to ensure all delegates have
the opportunity to hear the very latest information
about the new curriculum including the Technological
Knowledge and Nature of Technology strands. He hopes
that delegates will make the most of the networking
opportunities and enjoy the social events in one of
New Zealand's premier holiday destinations.
You are encouraged to contribute to the Conference by
sharing your experience through a paper or workshop
presentation. The Organising Committee is delighted by the variety and number of presentations on offer at this year's conference. See the menu on the left for details.
Visits to local technology-based industries are popular
activities at all TENZ conferences and this conference
is no exception. Sunny Hawke's Bay offers a wealth
of innovative technological practice. From Wattie's
to wineries and furniture by Furnware there will be
something of interest for you.
A feature of this conference will be a Q&A Forum –
the opportunity to pose questions about technology
education. What is it you'd like to know about the
development, implementation and future of the
curriculum? Questions can be submitted here and will
be answered by an invited panel of experts during a
forum on the final day of the conference.
New to TENZ 2009 is a Partners Programme including
a guided tour of Hawke's Bay – activities will be
arranged during the conference. Partners are also
welcome to join delegates for social functions including
welcome drinks and conference dinner.
