NZQA Best Practice - Technology

This workshop offers opportunity to:

• Enhance understanding of the standards
• Clarify grade boundaries
• Develop understandings of what is acceptable assessment material
• Increase confidence in making assessment decisions that are at the national standard
• Clarify moderation requirements

Participants will work with supplied assessment materials including samples of student work.

Presenter Biography

Heather McIntyre is currently on leave from her secondary school technology teacher position.

She is working for NZQA as the national moderator for Technology. The main focus of this job is moderating NCEA assessment tasks and student material across all senior levels and all technological areas. Her responsibilities also include updating the NZQA Resource for Teachers website with the national moderators report, clarifications documents, moderator's newsletters and exemplar material. This year she has also been involved as an official with the standards alignment project.
