Technology - Industry in the Classroom

Abstract
Frucor Beverages Limited is the second largest beverage company in New Zealand, but one that also leads in a variety of beverage categories. Through my learning experience this year, I have been able to test and trial approaches carried out in the Research and Development Lab as well as other areas of the industry. The link between what consumers want and how products are created, developed, produced and marketed will be demonstrated in this workshop, with the opportunity for delegates to experience hands on elements of the role of the technologist and how one team can work together towards getting a product to market.

Prue Rehu, Head of Food Technology – Botany Downs Secondary College, Howick, Auckland. I am currently on a Royal Society Fellowship, and being hosted by the R & D Department of Frucor Beverages Limited in Auckland.
