Welcome
TENZ eighth biennial conference will be held in Dunedin from 26-28th July 2011.
The Ministry of Education will once again offer a Curriculum Leaders Day in conjunction with the Conference and this will be held on Monday 25th July.
The Otago Museum, situated in the heart of the University and Polytechnic student area, will be the main conference venue. We’ll make the most of this unique complex by breakfasting with butterflies and sipping cocktails in the galleries.
Dunedin has made a unique contribution to New Zealand’s technological development from the first frozen meat shipment to America’s Cup graphics produced by the city’s own Animation Research Limited. During the conference visits will be arranged to a variety of local industries and we’ll hear from those who have been involved in the production of cutting edge technology.
We’re sure there’ll be something for teachers from all disciplines of technology across primary, secondary and tertiary sectors. Keynote presenters are currently being invited to ensure a varied and challenging programme. In July guidelines will be available on the website for anyone who wishes to offer a paper, teacher presentation or workshop.
If you have any suggestions for the conference programme please contact me.
I’m looking forward to sharing the very best Dunedin has to offer and am sure that TENZ 2011 will be worth making the trip.
