Consultation Questionnaire
Alignment of the Technology Standards with the New Zealand Curriculum (2007)
TENZ has been contracted by the Ministry of Education to align the Technology standards with the New Zealand Curriculum. The scope of this project includes all achievement standards plus those Technology unit standards that are linked to the curriculum.
The brief for this project includes:
- Drafting a Level 1-3 standard matrix in line with the Achievement Objectives from the curriculum. The matrix should also reflect the main learning outcomes from the essence statement and the strands in the relevant learning area.
- Developing the individual draft standards in line with this matrix.
- Identifying and addressing any duplication and credit parity issues.
- Applying the principles for standards development to this work.
- Consulting with key stakeholders on this work.
- Using the feedback from this consultation to refine the draft matrix and standards.
- Making recommendations to the Ministry and NZQA on changes needed in order to align the standards with the curriculum.
This questionnaire is designed to communicate the views of all stakeholders to TENZ on the alignment of the draft matrix, and the draft individual standards, to the curriculum.
Before responding to this questionnaire you will need to consider:
- the rationale (195 KB PDF) which explains the issues considered by the subject association writing group and the reasoning behind why the matrix and standards have been drafted in the way they have,
- the draft matrix of standards (496 KB PDF)
Please complete the online feedback form by 5pm Friday 3 April 2009.
